ALL MEMBERS AND PENSIONERS OF THE NATAL JOINT MUNICIPAL PENSION / KWAZULU-NATAL JOINT MUNICIPAL PROVIDENT FUNDS AND EMPLOYER REPRESENTATIVES (COUNCILLORS)
THE FUNDS 1ST ANNUAL FEEDBACK MEETING TO BE HELD ON THE 24TH OF FEBRUARY 2017
1.1 A circular dated 3 October 2016 was sent to stakeholders of the Fund (members, pensioners and all associated municipalities) notifying them of the proposed amendments to the election process for representation to the Committee of Management (Board of Trustees) and the postponement of the November 2016 Annual General Meeting. 1.2 The Financial Services Board (FSB) requires that a voting method be adopted which allows each member to cast their ballot and vote directly for members onto the Board of Trustees, rather than the present system of being elected through the General Committee at the Annual General Meeting.
1.3 As a consequence of the changing process, the Annual General Meeting of the General Committee of the Funds usually held every November of each year has been replaced with an information session:- Funds’ Annual Feedback Meeting (AFM). This AFM will be an information sharing session and will not involve any nomination, voting or election processes. The Trustees of all 3 Funds will be in attendance at the meeting.
2.1 You are hereby invited to attend the Funds’ 1st Annual Feedback Meeting which will be held at the City Hill Church Hall, 9 Greenmeadow Lane, Hillcrest on FRIDAY 24 FEBRUARY 2017 commencing at 10:00 am and ending at approximately 13:00 pm. Only Members and Pensioners of the NJMPF and Municipal Councillors are invited to the AFM.
2.2 The full agenda will be available from 16 February 2017, please visit www.njmpf.co.za/AFM2017 or request the agenda from the NJMPF Client Services Centre. In summary, the agenda will include a presentation by the Chairperson on the activities of the Fund, the Funds’ Actuary on the financial position of the Funds, Member and Pensioner updates and other pertinent Fund matters.
2.3 Should you wish to place any item on the agenda, submissions for consideration should be sent in writing to the Fund’s CEO/Principal Officer before 10 February 2017.
2.4 No Subsistence and Travel (S & T) payment to attend the Funds Annual Feedback Meeting will be paid. All travelling is at your own or your Municipalities’ expense.
2.5 Should you wish to attend the AFM, you will need to complete the Reply Sheet attached and email, fax or post to the NJMPF using Email: email@example.com, Fax: 031 266 6715 or post: P.O. Box 33, Westwood 3633, so that it reaches the Fund by no later than 10 February 2017. Members who confirm their intentions to attend using the Reply Sheet will receive an SMS from NJMPF confirming receipt. If no response is received, it will be assumed that you will not be attending and will not be allowed entry to the meeting.
2.6 On the day of the meeting, you will be required to produce identification in the form of an Identity Document (ID) or Driver’s License at the entrance. Should any attendee fail to do so, he/she will not be allowed to enter the meeting venue.
